Imagine your own evolve-event and you don’t show 😅

By Aylin Noske

I always thought that if I finally mastered some aspect of my self-development list, it would feel almost tangible. Some epic shift in the forces at play.

Turns out, like so many things in personal growth, it was much quieter and more subtle than that.

So subtle that I almost missed it.

I used to rush through things. Always focused on the goal, and once I achieved it, moving the goalpost and chasing the next thing.

I never felt satisfied or proud for very long.

A vicious cycle fuelled by insecurities.

Not being enough.

Not belonging.

And while I was deeply committed to my personal development, I also knew all the things intellectually:

“You are enough.”

“Enjoy the process.”

“The way is the goal.”

I understood them.

They just didn’t seem to stick.

So clearly that was proof that there really was something fundamentally wrong with me, right?!

Turns out, it was tiny things that accumulated.

One of them was realising that when I spoke to myself the way I would speak to a friend, my internal dialogue became a whole lot kinder, fast.

With that came more acknowledgement of my achievements.

Not necessarily the ones that look good on a CV, but the hard things nobody sees.

I started focusing more on what I wanted my life to feel like rather than what I wanted it to look like.

And I started feeling proud.

Of what I’d accomplished.

What I’d overcome.

The fact that I kept working on myself.

That gave me a sense of calm and confidence.

The urgent need to rush started to subside.

I had always known I’d done hard things.

Now I actually felt it.

And I was proud of my progress.

“And just like that” 😏

I’m able to enjoy the process of building my business — with all its challenges.

I keep evolving.

And when something feels hard, I trust myself to handle it.
